Our vision is to build a world school community where individuals from diverse backgrounds come together to create an inclusive, interconnected, and transformative educational environment. In this community, students, educators and families collaborate to foster a deep understanding and appreciation of global cultures, promote empathy, respect, and cross-cultural dialogue. We envision a community that embraces critical thinking and creativity, empowering students to become active contributors to solving global challenges. Where It All Started
LoveLeigh World Adventure Academy is the brainchild of the Executive Director, Mia Rucker. After raising five children, who had a mixture of traditional and nontraditional schooling, Mia decided that her youngest children would be exclusively homeschooled. She began to research different homeschooling techniques and strategies, deciding that a hybrid unschooling strategy, mixing in a bit of traditional curriculum, was best for her family. Pairing this educational strategy with her love of travel, Mia set out on a 15-month long "vacation" with her children. During this time, they explored multiple cities in Mexico. It was evident that the children were thriving with experiential learning and retaining an immense amount of the information they were exposed to. With this realization, Mia was convinced that ALL children should be exposed to some form of immersive educational experience and determined to make these kinds of experiences available to as many families as possible. Thus, LoveLeigh World Adventure Academy was born.
