LoveLeigh World Adventure Academy will tailor a curriculum based on the destination and attractions included in each trip. We will distribute age-appropriate materials to help students retain the information presented. Listed below are some of the attractions we will visit during our 2023 - 2024 school year, along with the learning objectives for each.
Promote hands-on learning, encourage creativity and imagination, enhance social skills, broaden cultural awareness, nurture critical thinking, develop fine and gross motor skills, build historical and cultural context.
Historical Understanding, empathy and perspective, social justice and activism, historical connections to contemporary issues, appreciation of diversity and inclusion.
Understanding of geological formations and extreme environments, cultural and historical significance, environmental conservation, outdoor skills and survival.
Geology and earth science, natural history and biodiversity, cultural significance and Native American history, outdoor skills and recreation, environmental conservation, geographical and cultural connections.
Study Ecology and ecosystems, understand biodiversity, explore geology and natural features, awareness and environmental stewardship, appreciate cultural and historical significance.
Understand government structure and functions, explore history and heritage, study state-specific policies and issues, observe civic engagement and democratic processes, experience local culture and diversity.
Science exploration, technology and innovation, engineering design, mathematics and logic, STEM careers and pathways, collaboration and teamwork, inspiration and aspiration.
Understand American government, civic engagements and democratic processes, advocacy and public policy, historical significance, historical landmarks and memorials, ethical leadership and public service.
Geology and volcanic activity, biodiversity and ecological systems, geothermal energy and renewable resources, wildlife observation and management.
History and biodiversity, geology and landforms, environmental stewardship and conservation, nature's influence on art and literature, cultural and historical significance, outdoor ethics.
Each month we will have a theme by which all of the learning materials for the month will be created. We will also research the nature and origin of the national holidays celebrated within that particular month. Listed below are some of our themes for the 2023 - 2024 school year.
Mountains, hills, pateaus, plains, valleys, etc.
Air quality and pressure, wind speed and direction, humidity, precipitation, etc.
Oceans, rivers, lakes, bayous, etc.
Cultures, countries, location, etc.
Types, plants, animals, circle of life, etc.
Types, origins, evolution, etc.
Planets, stars, moons, sun, travel, etc.
Stocks, bonds, insurance, currencies and conversion, investments, etc.
Types, rules, skills, equipment, etc.
This curriculum is a suggested framework that we will use. Each family has the option to adopt our framework, create their own, or adopt a different curriculum that better suits their family. As homeschool families, curriculum is at the sole discretion of the parents.
